Harlequin provide sprung floors for Sydney opening
A Harlequin Liberty Sprung Panel flooring system with Black Cascade dance surface transformed a hard concrete surface into a sprung dance area for a performance by two principals of the Australian Ballet at the opening of the Bloch dancewear chain’s new flagship city store in Sydney.
The Liberty floor, loaned for the occasion by Harlequin Australasia, covered an area 4.8m x 7.2m and was appreciated by Australian Ballet’s principal artists Robert Curran and Kirsty Martin, who performed an excerpt from the company's upcoming production of Manon before an invited audience of VIP guests, media and dance professionals. MC for the night was Mr. David McAllister, Artistic Director of the Australian Ballet, along with Ms Darcey Bussell, former Principal Dancer of the Royal Ballet.
Harlequin Liberty is a floating floor system composed of sprung floor panels and available for either permanent dance studio installation or as stage panels for touring. Designed for safety and suitable for a range of dance disciplines, when combined with a Harlequin dance surface, in this case Cascade, Liberty provides the ultimate floor allowing performers to concentrate on their art without fear of falling or injury. Harlequin Cascade is a reinforced sheet vinyl, manufactured to high standards and is specified worldwide for loose-lay and permanent installation in dance studios.
